Bloomberg offers a certification program that you can use to indicate that you have experience using the Bloomberg terminal. You can go through the Bloomberg certification program free on a Bloomberg terminal (in the Bruno Library or in the Bashinsky Computer Center), or you can pay Bloomberg $149 to complete it from anywhere over the web.
At the Bloomberg terminal, first login (using the account information taped to the keyboard), then type BMC and hit <go>. Next you will need to create a BMC account to record your progress. You will supply an email address, and you will get an email telling you how to authorize your account. Then you're ready to start. There are four modules that total eight hours. There are multiple quizzes, but they are just to test yourself; the certificate merely certifies that you completed the program. You can start and stop, and Bloomberg will remember where you left off. When you're finished, you can download the certificate at the terminal.
