For articles by a specific author, you can use Scout, a citation index, or Google Scholar. Try a couple different methods, and find a workflow that works for you.
Go to the Scout search screen. Then use the drop down menu to the left of the search box to select Author, type the author's name in the search box, and then hit enter or select Search.
This usually works best when you don't place the author's name in quotation marks, since authors' names can be listed in many different ways (William Faulkner; Faulkner, William; William Cuthbert Faulkner; William C. Faulkner, etc.). To learn a little more about effective searching in Scout, watch the video at the bottom of this page for some advanced search techniques, including searching by author.
You can also use a citation index to find articles written by a particular author. Which citation index to use depends on the subject; for example, Web of Science covers sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and international conference proceedings. You can find other indexes by going to the Libraries' databases page and selecting Abstract, Bibliography, Abstract Index from the Types menu.
Start by accessing Google Scholar through the UA Libraries website. This way, Google Scholar will provide you with links to available full text articles. Then, use the "author:" operator in the search bar. Type author followed by a colon, and then type the author name and hit enter or select the magnifying glass icon to run your search.
