What does it mean when an item says it's on reserve?

Answer

Each semester, faculty have the opportunity to place materials "on reserve" for their classes.  This allows all students enrolled in the class to be able to share access to a single item throughout the semester.  Reserve items may be online or they may be held at the circulation desk.
