Q

Do you have Alabama census records?

I'm doing a family history search and need records well into the 1800's.

Answer

Yes! Alabama census records are available on microfilm in the Hoole Special Collections Library.

We also have a subscription to Ancestry Library Edition, which includes the same information (but searchable!) from the 1790-1930 U.S. Censuses. If you're not affiliated with UA (currently enrolled student, faculty, or staff), you"ll need to visit us in person to use this resource.

You can find more recent census information on the Census Bureau website.
